Semi-industrial scale two-tank system ("bespoke")

Semi-industrial scale two-tank system ("bespoke")

The plant was deigned as a joint project of our two laboratories and E-2 department at the Jozef Stefan Institute and was built in the frame of TEMPUS JEP project in 1997. The main purpose of the plant is to enable the students to meet with industrial equipment for process control (sensors and actuators), however, nonlinear characteristics of the plant and on/off valves make it also suitable for testing various control algorithms and strategies. Manual and on/off valves enable various functional configurations of the plant regarding the aim of the experiments.
It is equiped by the following sensors
- two differential pressure sensors (Deltabar S, Endress+Hauser),
- absolute pressure sensor (Cerabar S,Endress+Hauser),
- absolute pressure manometer (JAKO),
- electromagnetic flow sensor (Promag A, Endress+Hauser),
- vortex flow sensor (Prowirl 70F, Endress+Hauser),
- utrasound level sensor (Prosonic T, Endress+Hauser),
- capacitive level sensor (Multicap T, Endress+Hauser),
(all Endress+Hauser sensors can be set by means of HART protocol, which enables adjustments to the sensors also during their normal operation time)
and actuators
- two electro-pneumatic valves (Samson 763, Samson),
- two centrifugal pumps (JES 8, Ebara),
- nine on/off valves (Jaksa),
- thirteen manual valves (Kovina)
