David Murray-Smith

David Murray-Smith is an Emeritus Professor of the University of Glasgow where, until October 2005, he was Professor of Engineering Systems and Control within the Department of Electronics and Electrical Engineering. He is also an Adjunct Research Professor in the College of Engineering, Computer Science and Construction Management at California State University Chico. He is still actively involved in research, mainly in the areas of model validation methods, inverse simulation techniques and control. The work relates mainly to applications concerning helicopter flight mechanics and control, ship steering control, process control and modelling problems relating to exercise physiology. In addition to collaboration with research groups within the University of Glasgow and at CSU Chico, he maintains active links with groups in the University of Leeds, Universität Hamburg, University of Nebraska, Lincoln, and the Universiti Teknologi Petronas in Malaysia.
