This more practically oriented study (in the faculty education scheme called Automatics) is based on a very general paradigm usually called a system approach to the study of technical and nontechnical dynamic systems. Engineers of this study are able to perform a variety of different jobs not only in strict control system design, implementation or maintenance sense. However such education enables them to link together specialists from different areas in more and more interdisciplinary oriented projects and applications.

Through lectures, exercises and laboratory work students obtain an extensive knowledge in several important areas: components in control systems, approaches in modelling and simulation, all aspects of control systems analysis and design with emphasise on computer control, communications, etc. beside high level of more general computer hardware and software understanding.

Lectures are enriched with demonstrations and multimedia presentations. Laboratory exercises take place in modern, well equipped laboratories with not only up to date computer technology but also with a plenty of industrial control components and laboratory pilot processes. Up to date software packages for computer aided control systems design, implementation and supervision are used.

Good practical knowledge, appropriate industrial practice and final work enable engineers of Graduate study to begin to work on real industrial automation problems immediately after their study or to continue with postgraduate Specialization.
